Signal Goby (Signigobius biocellatus)

Notes: When the Signal Goby sits with its dorsal fins erect the spots on its fins create the illusion of a much larger fish and help to ward off predators. This goby likes to work together in pairs, and will even spawn in the aquarium. One alone usually gets lonely and groups will often fight, unless introduced to a large aquarium. They are rarely aggressive towards other fish, and will do best in a reef aquarium with other passive fishes. Offer a varied diet of carnivore preparations, vitamin-enriched brine shrimp, mysid shrimp, live black worms, and finely chopped seafood. A refugium will provide an added source of food by helping to keep the sand bed full of tasty snacks.
